Platform Puzzlers

This is similar to the action platformer but with emphasis on solving puzzles or negotiating tricky landscapes rather than shooting things. Some, like And Yet It Moves and VVVVVV, are jump-based with clever mechanics. Then there are the physics-based games, like Leo's Fortune, Limbo or Nightsky that use objects and the environment. The truly intricate puzzle-based variety that proved really challenging and complex like Braid, Fez and Snapshot, while marvels to behold, required a deep level of thinking that unfortunately just kinda went over my head. This is a huge genre and I'm sure a few have slipped the net but OiO is the only notable absent title here; a superb game available on Gamer's Gate that didn't quite make the cut.
